Dr. Brooke Cook, Principal
Education and Experience: I received a Bachelors degree in Sociology from the University of North Texas, a Master’s degree in Secondary Education and Principal Certification from Texas A&M University-Commerce, and a Doctorate in Leadership and Learning with a Specialization in Education Administrations from Aspen University. I have been an educator for over 17 years. My classroom experience includes facilitating various populations in American History while at Mesquite ISD. In addition to teaching, I have served as a member of the curriculum writing team, an administrative intern, an At-Risk Coordinator, and Testing Coordinator. I am married with an adult daughter and a soon-to-be graduating son! My ‘why’ is based on the belief of growing the capacity of others by first building meaningful relationships and second by using data as the guide.
Mrs. Patrice Whitten, Assistant Principal
Education and Experience: Mrs. Whitten has worked with students in grades K-12 for more than 16 years. She has served as a teacher, middle school and high school ESL facilitator, assistant principal, assistant director, adjunct professor, and educational consultant. Mrs. Whitten enjoys riding motorcycles, skiing and singing.
Mrs. Connie Jones, Academic Counselor
Education and Experience: This is Ms. Jones’ fifth year at PTAA. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Dallas in history and a Master’s in Counseling Studies from Capella University. She has taught secondary English and history in several private schools in the area. She has served as a Secondary Administrator at an another area charter school, and has worked as a high school counselor at an area independent school district alternative education program. Ms. Jones has also worked as a case manager for the TRIO program at Dallas College. Ms. Jones is married and has two grown daughters and two granddaughters.
